Late Instar NOW Larva in a Pistachio Mummy

NOW Larvae in Almond Mummies

Almond mummies in the tree absorb morning

dew and rain. In some years, mummies remain

wet enough to keep many NOW larvae alive

in the hull to adulthood.

Pistachio Mummies

Pistachio mummies on the ground provide

an ideal development site for NOW larvae and

are especially attractive when intermittently

made wet by drip irrigation.
